Pictures on the Wall

Scripture: Deut. 7:6-9; Galatians 3:26-29

6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

7 The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

At our house we have a lot of pictures. On walls throughout our house you can find many images and reminders of those most dear to us, mostly our family at varying stages of our life together. I suppose your house is similar.

Did you know that God also has a house? With pictures on the walls? And if the above passages are true, then your picture is on God’s wall. When you got up this morning God was already thinking about you. He loves you. There is nothing you can do that would result in God taking your picture off his wall. It is there and it is not coming down!

Remember whose you are. Rest today in His presence. He longs for yours.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. -
