Week of March 16th - 20th
Please follow what is expected each day. I ask that you do not try to do this all in one/two days. It is very important for students to be doing their work Monday-Friday and to stick to a consistent schedule at home. :)
If there are problems and or questions students have PLEASE message me via Bloomz or email (email@example.com) If it is a problem that I can create a video to show how to do it I will and post it on Bloomz. :) I can also be in contact via video chat with your student to help if you are having a difficult time helping him/her.
I am not including grammar/spelling into this week. I don’t want to over-stress the students out. Please note this is new for all of us. This is a “test run.” I would love kind feedback on how this week went. I will be posting other great sources online for you to use to help keep your student in learning mode. :)
Don’t forget to enjoy the weather, be creative and have fun with each other during this season of our life. Always remember, the Lord is ALWAYS in control… Live in His peace… and TRUST His direction for us all!
FROM MRS. ESSENBURG:
Friday, March 13
It is hard to know where to begin with this letter. I know that I want to share this verse with you as we move forward into our hopes of “remote learning” during the next few weeks.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
As we enter into this new territory for the next few weeks, we need to remember to trust Christ in all of this and remember that God works through all moments including storms. Our goal at SOCS is for students to still participate in school work and learning while at home. We are doing our best to research the best way to make this as successful as we can. We are excited to find ways to interact with your child while at home via video, email, etc.
As of right now my goal is to have packets ready at school each Monday to be picked up for that week for students to do. (You are not allowed to just show up at school to pick up during these next few weeks. All pick ups need to be scheduled for an appointment through the office.) These packets will have a letter of information to hopefully help guide you and your child through the worksheets and tasks.
I will be finding a way to post videos using either Google Classroom, Flipgrid, and/or email. Please be checking Bloomz daily to keep up on daily reports and for us to have consistent communication available. These videos will be videos to help teach a lesson, share information, or just a fun way to communicate with the student.
If for some reason you need to meet me in person as well, you will need to make an appointment through the office. Office and staff hours as of right now will be 8AM -12PM each day. This is subject to change if necessary.
Again, this is new territory for us all and we are ready to learn with you on how we are going to make each day the best it can be from learning at home! If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.
Attach are important log-in information. Please keep these in a place that will not get lost. They are critical for their learning through the next 3 weeks.
