The middle school students enjoyed a wonderful trip to Mackinac Island on May 18 and 19, 2017. The students had done many fund raisers to earn this wonderful community building experience. The trip began with student led devotions for parents and students at 6:00 a.m. We climbed into two vans and headed to Mackinac City. After arriving, we first toured Mill Creek Museum, which taught us about the early logging industry. Then we boarded the Shepler ferry and headed to the Island House Motel. Once settled, we road bikes around the island for three hours and even visited a few of the shops. By 6:00 p.m, we enjoyed a delicious dinner back at the Island House together.
Soon after dinner, energy was high so students and chaperones enjoyed swimming at the Island House pool, playing games, and just relaxing together. Friday was filled with a tour of two forts and the ride home. It was a trip we will always remember!
