Meet Ms. Wehrmeyer
I graduated from South Olive Christian Elementary School and then Zeeland West High School. I have a bachelor’s degree from Nyack College in Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Special Education.
This school year is my first year teaching. I completed a semester of student teaching in New York and in Michigan. My first student teaching placement was completed in New York in a K/1 self-contained classroom for children on the autism spectrum. I was privileged to have completed my second student teaching placement at South Olive Chrisitan School alongside Mrs. Sluiter in her 4th/5th and middle school classrooms.
I am the youngest of 4 siblings. I have three brothers and one sister. I am blessed to have 3 beautiful nieces and two handsome nephews.
Why I became a Christian school teacher
I became a teacher because it was clear at an early age that God has given me the gift of working with children, especially children with special needs. Getting to take that gift and practice it in a Christian school setting is one of the greatest blessings. I believe that being a Christian school teacher not only gives you the opportunity to instill a great academic career for your students but to also instill a great spiritual career as well. It is a blessing to grow alongside students in a setting where God is so present.
I attended South Olive Christian school K-8th grade and had both Mrs. Pyle and Mrs. Sluiter as my teachers.
